Her mother fondly reminisces about a young Lanae, around 4 or 5 years old, singing loudly and stomping on the front porch, joyfully belting out, "I’m so glad that Jesus ‘FLIPPEDED’ me!" It's quite amusing that the correct word should have been ‘LIFTED’ instead of ‘FLIPPEDED’. When Lanae devoted her life to Christ, her pastor inquired about her desires in the church, to which Lanae promptly replied, “I want to be in the choir!” Since then, she has been using her voice to praise the Lord.
The essence of "New Day" is to convey the message that each day presents an opportunity for a fresh and distinctive way to worship and love God. The inspiration behind her song, “We Got It,” stems from a life-altering car accident. In July 1997, at the age of eleven, Lanae's life took a drastic turn. Lanae faced a life-threatening car accident, and doctors offered little hope for her survival, predicting a vegetative state if she did pull through. However, her parents refused to accept this grim prognosis. They held onto their faith and relied on God. Their faith was rewarded - Lanae was healed by God's miraculous power, earning her the nickname "Miracle" from those who witnessed her recovery. Despite the challenges she has faced, Lanae firmly acknowledges that her victory is thanks to Jesus.
In 2009, Lanae embarked on her official singing career. She honed her lyric-writing skills under the guidance of her producer, Tony Chalmers, a Gospel Rapper. This unique mentorship has infused her lyrics with a captivating blend of a rapper's edge and a worshiper's heart.
